Deeksha's Story
Deeksha is a current high school student in Raleigh, North Carolina.
WHO
WHAT
In her project, Deeksha created a platform that brings awareness to the mental health of cancer patients, specifically as a result of their medication. The solution is an internet website that facilitates support groups for those undergoing cancer treatment. Patients can join the groups on one of the website's pages.
WHY
After conducting research on cancer, Deeksha realized that those undergoing cancer treatment were more likely to develop mental health problems. This led her to dive deeper into the field and investigate the side effects of different treatment medications, specifically relating to the mental health of those taking the medications.
